My competitive focus comes from showing up every day and working hard, even when things aren’t perfect. I try to stay focused, keep good habits, and follow routines that help me stay steady when it’s time to compete. I practice staying calm and thinking fast so I can handle tough situations without freaking out. Most of all, I try to practice good sportsmanship and give my best effort, so every match shows how much I am dedicated.

Working with little kids exhausted me when I first started training BJJ. However, I learned that in order for my Jiu-jitsu to improve I had to learn to coach others. Coaching others will not only build my skills, but my character as well. Having the opportunity to share my knowledge with younger competitors at my gym is a blessing to me.
